Sea Kayaking in Misterhult Archipelago

Welcome to the vast marine nature reserve of the Misterhult Archipelago! On the coast between Oskarshamn and Västervik lies a true eldorado for kayakers and one of Sweden's best-kept secrets.

Boasting around 2000 islands, almost all of them uninhabited, Misterhult is a wild gem waiting to be explored. The sheltered and forest-covered islands of the inner archipelago gradually give way to the polished rock formations and panoramic sea views of the archipelago’s outer reaches.

The reserve is home to both gray seals and harbour seals. White tailed eagles and the Eurasian eagle-owl are spotted regularly as well.

Setting out from the small hamlet of Klintemåla we will follow the landscape of Småland as it blends into the Baltic Sea. We take aim for the islands of Älö and Vippholmen, spending the day cruising through the nearby labyrinth of islands, rocks and coves. Weather permitting and with a bit of grit and skill we might even make it further out into the archipelago. As always we focus on the fun and adjust the tour according to your ability and wishes for the day.
